After murdering his mother, the Queen, Orestes is chased by the Furies, the goddesses of vengeance, who represent three natural disasters. Alecto embodies endless anger of unceasing earthquake. Magaera personifies jealous rage of tsunami waters. Tisiphone represents vengeful destruction of hurricane winds. They came for Orestes to avenge his terrible crime.
