Thea Marti is a Ukrainian filmmaker, whose extensive backgrounds have prepared her to take on the challenge of running her own audiovisual start up PhD Films, included into 100 best creative projects of Lazio Region in 2018. She speaks 7 languages, has two master degrees and more than 10 years of experience in the media industry.

An international filmography of Thea Marti counts more than 30 independent projects, including narrative short films, video art and music videos. Some of her works have been distributed by Minerva Pictures Group (Italy) and Gonella Productions (France).

Her feature film project The Northern Rhapsody has got financing for script development from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation in 2018 after being previously selected for Pitch Dating at Court Métrange Short Film Festival in Rennes, France. Her short film Balloons was awarded for the best screenplay at Cine Palium Festival in Bari, Italy, in 2017. Recently Thea Marti has been also invited as a member of the international jury at the 45th Filmets Film Festival in Badalona, Spain and the 11th BCN Sports Film Festival in Barcelona, Spain.

Thea Marti is currently working on several film projects: a supernatural erotic thriller Venus in Moonlight, set in Ibiza, a dark erotic fantasy The Hex, set in Ukraine, and a low-budget sci-fi thriller Dreamweavers, set in a dreamworld.

Venus in Moonlight has been developed during the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs exchange between Thea Marti and Jara Studio, supported and financed by the European Union. Dreamweavers has been supported by the Baltic Centre of Writers and Translators in Gotland, Sweden, and the Vice-Versa Foundation in Goa, India in 2020.
